Our 7th leg was terminated early on April 12 because of very bad weather. Though dissapointed in the progress we made in reaching our mileage goal, we did have some wonderful experiences and contacts with the Habitat folks we met. We look forward to our next leg later this year and hope for calmer conditions and smooth water. I hope you will take some time and read some of the logs written about our days on the water and explore some other parts of our website.
It is hard for me to believe that I will have had my 70th birthday before we are back on the water but it does not feel that it will have the least effect on me! This recent row has done wonders for my new right knee, replaced last November 27. I heartilly recommend rowing as good physical therapy after knee replacement surgery!
I do want to thank all of those that contributed to our campaign to raise money for the Habitat Affiliates that we visited. Your generosity will help a wonderful cause. We saw it in the eyes of one new homeowner in Atlanta who has worked for and earned a new life, not just a new home!
I will contact you before we launch again.
